Delete Your Account
Last updated: 16 August 2026
This page explains how to delete your FIGHTS.IO account, what is removed, and the one category of data we keep. It applies to the FIGHTS.IO Android app and to fights.io.
01 Delete your account in the app
This is the fastest route and it runs immediately. No request, no waiting.
- Open FIGHTS.IO on your device, or go to fights.io.
- Sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open Settings.
- Scroll to Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm you understand the action is permanent.
- Confirm. Your data is removed straight away and you are signed out.
Deletion is permanent. There is no recovery period and no way for us to restore an account afterwards.
02 Delete your account by email
If you cannot sign in — a lost password, a disabled sign-in provider, or an uninstalled app — email us instead.
- Write to privacy@fights.io from the email address on the account
- Include your FIGHTS.IO username
- Put Delete my account in the subject line
We verify that the request comes from the account holder and complete it within 30 days. We will confirm by email once it is done.
03 What is deleted
Everything below is erased permanently:
- Account and sign-in — your email address, password, and any Google or X sign-in link
- Profile — username, display name, profile picture, bio, location, website, and all social handles
- Your identity on picks — your name comes off every pick you made. The pick itself (fighter, method, reasoning) is retained anonymously so community percentages stay accurate, with nothing connecting it to you
- Reactions you have left on other users' picks
- Followers and following — in both directions
- Event follows and their notification subscriptions
- Notifications and your push notification device tokens
- Settings and preferences, including language, timezone and notification choices
- Your record — win rate, streaks, and pick statistics
- Reports you have submitted about other users or content
04 What we keep, and why
Moderation records
If your account received a strike or a ban, we keep that record. Without it, a banned account could be deleted and immediately recreated, and the ban would mean nothing. This is retained for the security and integrity of the service.
After deletion this record holds only an internal identifier and the moderation decision. Your profile is gone, so it no longer contains anything that identifies you by name, email or picture.
Anonymised picks
Your picks are kept after deletion with every link to you removed — no account, no username, no profile. They exist only inside aggregate numbers such as "62% picked Fighter A", which would silently change for everyone else if departing users' picks vanished. This follows the same approach as other community platforms and involves no personal data: there is nothing in a retained pick that identifies you.
Anonymous data with no link to you
Some data is anonymous when it is created and is not connected to your account at any point, so there is nothing in it to delete:
- Outbound bookmaker click logs, which record the bookmaker, sport and country only — no IP address and no user identifier
- Aggregate usage analytics that cannot be traced to an individual
Backups
Encrypted database backups may hold residual copies for a short period until they are rotated. These are not accessible from the app and are overwritten on a rolling basis within 30 days.
Legal obligations
Where the law requires us to retain specific records, we keep only what is required and only for as long as required.
05 Deleting some data without deleting your account
You do not have to close your account to remove your data. Most of it you can clear yourself, and anything you cannot, you can ask us to delete.
What you can remove yourself
- Profile picture — remove it in Edit Profile
- Bio, location, website and social links — clear any or all of them in Edit Profile
- Username and display name — change either at any time
- Pick reasoning — edit or clear the text on a pick while that fight is still open
- Push notifications — turn them off in Settings, which also removes the device token for that device
Asking us to delete specific data
For anything you cannot remove yourself — past picks, your reactions, reasoning on fights that have already closed, or your activity history — email privacy@fights.io and tell us what you want deleted. Your account stays open.
- Write from the email address on the account
- Put Delete specific data in the subject line
- Say which data you mean
We verify the request comes from the account holder and complete it within 30 days, then confirm by email. Some deletions cannot be undone — a removed pick does not come back, and your win rate and streaks are recalculated without it.
