Delete Your Account

Last updated: 16 August 2026

This page explains how to delete your FIGHTS.IO account, what is removed, and the one category of data we keep. It applies to the FIGHTS.IO Android app and to fights.io.

01 Delete your account in the app

This is the fastest route and it runs immediately. No request, no waiting.

  1. Open FIGHTS.IO on your device, or go to fights.io.
  2. Sign in to the account you want to delete.
  3. Open Settings.
  4. Scroll to Delete Account.
  5. Type DELETE to confirm you understand the action is permanent.
  6. Confirm. Your data is removed straight away and you are signed out.

Deletion is permanent. There is no recovery period and no way for us to restore an account afterwards.

02 Delete your account by email

If you cannot sign in — a lost password, a disabled sign-in provider, or an uninstalled app — email us instead.

We verify that the request comes from the account holder and complete it within 30 days. We will confirm by email once it is done.

03 What is deleted

Everything below is erased permanently:

04 What we keep, and why

Moderation records

If your account received a strike or a ban, we keep that record. Without it, a banned account could be deleted and immediately recreated, and the ban would mean nothing. This is retained for the security and integrity of the service.

After deletion this record holds only an internal identifier and the moderation decision. Your profile is gone, so it no longer contains anything that identifies you by name, email or picture.

Anonymised picks

Your picks are kept after deletion with every link to you removed — no account, no username, no profile. They exist only inside aggregate numbers such as "62% picked Fighter A", which would silently change for everyone else if departing users' picks vanished. This follows the same approach as other community platforms and involves no personal data: there is nothing in a retained pick that identifies you.

Anonymous data with no link to you

Some data is anonymous when it is created and is not connected to your account at any point, so there is nothing in it to delete:

Backups

Encrypted database backups may hold residual copies for a short period until they are rotated. These are not accessible from the app and are overwritten on a rolling basis within 30 days.

Legal obligations

Where the law requires us to retain specific records, we keep only what is required and only for as long as required.

05 Deleting some data without deleting your account

You do not have to close your account to remove your data. Most of it you can clear yourself, and anything you cannot, you can ask us to delete.

What you can remove yourself

Asking us to delete specific data

For anything you cannot remove yourself — past picks, your reactions, reasoning on fights that have already closed, or your activity history — email privacy@fights.io and tell us what you want deleted. Your account stays open.

We verify the request comes from the account holder and complete it within 30 days, then confirm by email. Some deletions cannot be undone — a removed pick does not come back, and your win rate and streaks are recalculated without it.
